The Nikon Coolshot 40i Golf Laser Rangefinder is an invaluable tool that measures the distance to flagsticks up to 450 yards away, and reflective targets up to 650 yards away. It features a built-in inclinometer that measures the angle from the viewer to the target. That information is used by the imbedded ID Technology to calculate an adjusted hypothetical distance for you to set the shot for. The CoolShot also employs the proprietary HYPER READ algorithm to deliver fast and stable measurements regardless of the distance to the target, and First Target Priority mode that automatically displays the distance to the closest target sighted when overlapping subjects are viewed. The CoolShot has a measurement accuracy of ±0.75 yd/m, displays the distance in 0.5 yd/m increments, and is displayed within 0.5 seconds.
The 6x magnification is suitable for identifying targets at mid-range distances and a long eye relief helps eyeglass wearers use it comfortably. Information is displayed in an in-view LED display and an auto-off function saves battery life. Multicoated optics, weatherproof construction, a wide temperature tolerance, and one-touch activation make this rangefinder a full-featured device for many activities, such as golf, where determining accurate distances are critical.
